Paula Dangers

Hi, welcome to my page.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor. I see clients in person and online from Hackney, London.

I offer a warm and containing space for us to explore what is going on for you. In our sessions, I will be mostly listening to you and will be facilitating a space to process emotions and experiences. We will work together collaboratively to find ways for you to move forward in a different way.

As an Integrative counsellor, I take a holistic view of each client and work with their unique life story, patterns and ways of relating to themselves, others and the world around them.

The following theoretical orientations inform my thinking and how I work: Psychodynamic, Existential, Mindfulness, Attachment theory, Body Psychotherapy, Feminist Therapy. As a practitioner, I am acutely aware of my client’s social, political and cultural contexts and how this manifests in their lives.

I have worked with issues such as: identity; trauma; anxiety; depression; domestic violence; relationship issues; feeling stuck; feeling lost; multilingualism; low self-esteem; multiculturalism; attachment trauma; exploring their gender and sexuality; neurodiversity; work issues.

Finding a therapist that is right for you is important. This is why I would recommend that you get in touch with multiple therapists to choose who you feel most drawn and comfortable to work with.

I currently have availability on Monday evenings and Tuesday evenings online and Wednesday afternoons in person, in Hackney Central.

I offer an initial introductory session at the reduced fee of thirty pounds which will last fifty minutes. This will be an opportunity for me to find out more about you, what you are hoping for and whether I can help. It will also be a space for you to get a sense of me and to ask any questions about the process of therapy. This first session does not bind you and I encourage you to take a couple of days to decide whether this feels right for you.

If we decide to work together, we will agree on a day and time to meet weekly for fifty minutes.

I offer short and long-term counselling in English and French to adults (18+).
