Inês Nunes
Welcome
Hello! I am a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, working with individuals aged 16+, either individually or partnered, both face to face and online. My work includes systemic intervention, EMDR, psychosexual therapy, and intimate partner therapy.
I offer a respectful, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. Therapy is a place to better understand yourself, your relationships, and the challenges you may be facing, while developing compassion for your distress and confidence in your strengths. I place great importance on working sensitively and inclusively, creating a space that supports reflection, growth, and emotional safety. Making sure there is a close link to resources with evidence-based research.
My Experience
I’ve been working with people from a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, relationship and family structures, and neurodivergent experiences, for more than ten years. I am mindful of how ethnicity, race, gender, religion, sexuality, and gender identity can shape the way people experience distress and access support.
I support people who are looking to:
make sense of their identity
explore mental health and emotional wellbeing
understand neurodivergent processes
develop tools to support their mental health
work through relationship, intimacy, or sexual difficulties
focus on personal growth with a supportive professional
I also have experience working with individuals and couples navigating complex relational dynamics and life transitions.
How I Work
I adopt an integrative and collaborative approach, staying closely attuned to each person’s individual needs. I encourage people to separate themselves from the problems they are living with and to approach distress with compassion rather than self-judgement.
Based on acceptance and commitment, compassion-focused and cognitive behavioural approaches, I work with the person to set and achieve their therapeutic goals.
In sessions, I work with your experiences, strengths, skills, and values, while offering techniques informed by a range of therapeutic models. I respect your autonomy and what you choose to bring into the session, and I work at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy is shaped together, rather than directed or prescriptive.
Accessing Therapy
I believe that everyone should have access to mental health support, wherever they are on their journey. If you feel you might benefit from psychological input, you are welcome to get in touch. I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to explore whether working together would be a good fit for your needs.
