I am a Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working with adults and young people of all backgrounds – mainly here in East London, but also online. If you find yourself stuck, having a difficult time, or simply unclear about anything in your life, I believe I can support you in taking the next steps forward.
How I Work
My practice is grounded in the here-and-now: what is it like talking about difficult subjects in this moment, what does this bring up? In this way we can often approach the essence of your own process and work on that together. This interpersonal and existential approach mainly leverages my training in person-centred and gestalt modalities. However, I integrate a range of clinical thinking into my work, and encourage the use of the arts or any form of creative expression in therapy.
At the core of my practice is the belief that the quality of our working relationship greatly influences how much you are able to get out of therapy. I have seen clients make great strides in their life when we have been able to find out exactly how to best support them. My hope is to be able to do that with you.
My work is trauma-informed and interpersonally-oriented, which means I strive to work at a pace that suits you, and remain sensitive to the nature of our encounter and conversation. I will be curious about your whole person; your specific lived experience and how you find meaning within your everyday world.
Experience and Qualifications
I am a qualified Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I qualified from Metanoia Institute in West London, of which I remain a member and where I am training towards a Psychotherapy qualification. I also hold an Advanced Diploma in the Therapeutic Use of the Arts, and a Certificate in Counselling Skills for Working with Children.
I have extensive experience of providing counselling in the third sector since 2015. In this time I have successfully worked with clients bringing a broad range of issues to therapy. You may feel that anxiety or depression are holding you back, be having trouble at home or at work/school, struggling to live and eat well, or feel held back by particular historical or traumatic events. I will support you in finding a way forward that acknowledges both your past, present and future; how you got here, as well as your current hopes and fears.
Fees and Availability
I offer a free introductory session, upon request. Starting in therapy, whether for the first time or anew, is an important decision and a significant investment. This can help you to get a proper sense of whether what I offer is right for you at this time.
My regular fee is £60 or £55 for evening or daytime appointments, respectively. I also may be able to offer concessionary rates, based on your circumstances.
Please enquire for up-to-date availability.
I look forward to hearing from you.
