Hello and Welcome.
My name is Naomi, and I am a Dramatherapist who is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council, and the British Association of Dramatherapists. I work online and in person 1:1 with children, young people, and adults.
I offer a warm, confidential, and validating space for my clients. My sessions combine verbal conversation with creative arts activities because sometimes words are not always enough for us to accurately express our thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Instead, it is often through the arts such as music, stories, images, theatre, and creative expressions that we find solace, validation, and a deeper understanding of our experiences.
Some examples of how we may work in Dramatherapy include using meditation and movement techniques to help you discover ways to find relaxation, using a drama activity to support you in exploring what confidence may look like for you, or exploring ‘grief’ or ‘loss’ by reflecting together on a story that contains these themes. It is a non-judgemental and confidential space where the pace and content of our session is always informed by you and what you need.
I hold an MA in Drama and Movement Therapy from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and a Postgraduate Diploma in the Therapeutic Application of the Arts from the Institute of the Arts in Therapy and Education. My way of working draws on a range of different theories including Developmental Psychology, Jungian Psychology, Somatic Experiencing Theory and Psychodynamic Theory. I also apply an Intersectional Feminist and an LGBTGI+ inclusive approach to my practise, and I can offer an approach that includes Menstrual Cycle Awareness.
I offer a free initial 30-minute phone or zoom consultation call prior to you booking your first session. This is for you see whether working with me feels right, and so that you can ask any questions you may have.
1:1 session are £70 for a 50-minute session, typically we will meet weekly at the same time and day.
