Bodywork can be a wonderful way to relax, replenish, and have aches and pains eased. But massage therapy that focuses only on the body can miss the opportunity to deepen understanding of the interconnectedness of body and mind, through which we can cultivate intelligent awareness of our whole being.
For this reason, I bring an hour of massage therapy together with guided embodiment practices, interspersed in a 90-minute client-centred session that:
· – Brings relaxation and invites feeling good for its own sake
· – Eases areas of muscular tension
· – Consciously engages the part of the nervous system that’s in play when we feel comfortable and safe
· – Enables learning of skills along the way to drop deeper into each moment within your session – and beyond
I hold a VTCT/ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Massage and a VTCT/ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology from the Brighton College of Classical Massage. I am also trained in scar tissue remediation, somatic education, and embodied consent practices. I am a registered, insured and accredited member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, and adhere to their Code of Conduct and Professional Practice.
I work with all genders and all bodies, and I take active steps in my personal and professional development to cultivate inclusive practice. I am experienced in working with gender diversity, pregnancy, and bodies that carry scar tissue. In terms of accessibility, Hackney Therapy Centre has a step-free street level entrance and a lift. If you would like to book a session and have questions about access, please let me know.
